How to Create the Perfect Tea Corner
Here’s how to create the perfect “tea corner” to relax and enjoy tea at home. Does the idea of having tea daily make you happy? Take time to relax at home with a cup of tea, cultivate healthy habits and create a special place to do just that.
There’s nothing like starting your morning, or taking a moment throughout the day, to gain a sense of calm with a cup of tea.
Want to start a Morning Tea Ritual?
To fashion a private tea corner, you really just need a comfortable seat, a small side table and appropriate lighting. When things seem a little hectic, or you just want to unwind, take a moment to relax in this special spot.
Find a nook or repurpose an underutilized closet—take the door(s) off to create a larger space. Look for extra room under eaves, or functional space under a staircase. Add a framed photo or piece of art, and a few of your treasures. Enhance your tea corner with a nature-inspired element like beach glass, a pressed leaf or a green plant.
If you don’t have any extra floor square footage, even a countertop place in your kitchen, marked with a tray and a few special accessories, may create a special tea corner.
Setting up Your Tea Corner
Start with a variation of these items:
- Tray
- Tea cloth or linen napkin
- Teapot
- Teacup
- Special spoon
- Coaster
Like honey? Add your favorite jar and honey spoon. Or, add a beautiful bowl for rock sugar to your tea corner.
Remember to take a moment to be fully present while preparing your tea in your new tea corner. Take a few deep breaths while heating your water and preparing your tea can become a meditation.
