Tea Bread Recipe

Tea has long been favorite beverage that many enjoy drinking day or night hot or cold. There are so many different varieties of teas that the flavor possibilities virtually are limitless.

In addition to being an enjoyable drink, tea is often used in the preparation of some delicious recipes. You may be surprised to learn just what can be paired with tea to produce unique and amazing flavors. Here is one of my favorite tea bread recipes that you might want to try:

Delicious Chai Spice Bread
This wonderful bread has a cake like texture that combines a light sweetness with the perfect hint of chai spices. You can savor this treat alongside your favorite cup of breakfast tea.

Ingredients:
 3/4 cup milk
3 tablespoons Tiger Chai Black Tea
6 tablespoons butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
(optional) 1/3 cup raisins

Directions:
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan. Combine the milk and Thai Chai Premium Black Tea in a small saucepan over medium heat. Heat to a simmer, then remove from heat, and allow to cool slightly. (* Learn more about how to properly steep tea in milk by clicking here.

In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg until the mixture is light and fluffy. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the milk tea until just blended. (optional – add raisins). Pour into the prepared pan.

Bake for 50 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a wooden pick inserted into the crown of the loaf comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a wire rack.
