The Ultimate Iced Chai Tea Latte Recipe
Spicy, creamy and just as sweet as you want it – our Iced Chai Tea Latte recipe is sure to hit the spot. The weather is getting warmer and we are ready to switch up our steaming hot mugs of tea for an iced tea latte!
What is Chai?
Although the word chai merely means “tea” in Hindi, it’s come to imply a black tea simmered with spices, milk and sugar. Masala chai, or “spiced tea,” is traditionally made with a black tea from the region of Assam, and has been savored in India for centuries.
Classic chai spices pervade the senses… cardamom, ginger, star anise, cloves, cinnamon and pepper. Maybe even a little nutmeg, fennel seed, coriander and vanilla.
Americans now love their chai too, and the versatility of the chai tea latte. Steaming hot or iced, caffeine or no caffeine, made with the milk or a non-dairy alternative, it’s the perfect drink to make at home. You can even amp up the spice or tone down the sweetness. We promise it will be as good or even better than your local coffeeshop.
Fusion Teas carries six distinctive chai blends. If you love the flavor of chai, but don’t love the caffeine, try our Red Bush Chai. Like spicy teas? We’ve also curated a large selection of spiced teas.
Our powerful and dark Tiger Chai is made with Assam black tea and blended with cardamom, cinnamon and fennel. Classic Masala Chai features fiery ginger, the sweet spice of cinnamon and the bold astringency of black tea. Both of these are perfect for an iced chai tea latte — pick your favorite.
