Perfect for Summer – Tea Smoothie Bowl Recipes

This time of year, the blender comes out and smoothies abound. Smoothie bowls are versatile; they are cool, refreshing and healthful. Smoothie bowls are hydrating and can be a treat or a meal replacement. And dare I say they are beautiful!

Tea, especially matcha, pairs well with banana and avocado for creamy goodness. Here are three of our favorite tea smoothie bowl recipes.

Matcha Green Tea Smoothie Bowl 

1/2 cup non-fat yogurt
1 cup almond milk
1/2 avocado
Add several spinach or kale leaves
Add your favorite fruit (bananas or strawberries work well)
Add ice as desired
Blend and top with your favorite fruit… a row of sliced bananas and a bunch of blueberries. For a little more protein add a spoon of almond butter or sunflower seeds.

Chai Tea Smoothie Bowl 

1 frozen banana, sliced
1 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt OR ¼ cup dairy alternative milk
1/2 cup of your favorite chai tea, brewed strong and chilled
2 pitted dates
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger, ground
1/4 teaspoon cloves, ground
Add ice as desired
Combine all ingredients and blend. For the top: sliced banana, a sprinkle of chia seeds, granola

Watermelon Lime Green Tea Smoothie Bowl 

1/2 cup Watermelon Lime Green Tea, brewed strong
1 cup fresh spinach
1 frozen banana, sliced
1/2 avocado
2 teaspoons lime zest
1 tablespoon lime juice
Add ice as desired
Add a 1/2 teaspoon matcha if desired
Combine all ingredients and blend. For the top, add sliced banana and mango, chia seeds, granola.
